About Elocon Scalp Lotion 30ml
  1. What is Elocon Scalp Lotion?

Elocon Scalp Lotion is a 'potent corticosteriod' medicine.

It contains an anti-inflammatory medicine called mometasone furoate 0.1 % w/w. This active ingredient helps to soothe the redness and relieve the soreness and itching that comes with psoriasis and dermatitis of the scalp.

It can be used by adults and children alike, although you need a prescription to buy Elocon.

How does Elocon Scalp Lotion work?

Elocon Scalp Lotion belongs to a group of medicines called topical corticosteroids. For this medicine to work effectively, the patient must apply the lotion to the surface of the skin to reduce the redness and itching that comes with dermatitis and psoriasis.

Elocon also moisturises the skin and slows down the growth rate of skin cells, which helps to relieve the symptoms of psoriasis. By slowing down the production of itchy skin cells, it is able to treat the skin that already exists on the scalp, helping to promote healing and allow the skin to return to a normal state.

Why is Elocon Scalp Lotion recommended for scalp conditions?

Elocon is prescribed for these problems due to its anti-inflammatory properties, as well as its ability to relieve itching and irritation. Therefore, it provides relief and comfort for sufferers of certain scalp conditions.

It also gets to work quickly and should only be used in the short term. Furthermore, it can be used by most adults and children over 2 years old.

Who can use Elocon Scalp Lotion?

Elocon Scalp Lotion is an effective treatment for psoriasis of the scalp. However, it may not be suitable for everyone to use.

This product is not recommended for children under the age of 2 years.
