What is Zindaclin Gel?

Zindaclin Gel is an antibiotic treatment that is only available to purchase on prescription.

Following an online consultation with one of our certified doctors, you can buy Zindaclin Gel from Medicine Direct's online pharmacy. If you order before 2 PM, we can offer you next day delivery on your purchase.

What is Zindaclin Gel used to treat?

Zindaclin Gel is prescribed to treat acne breakouts that are painful and irritating. It contains the active ingredient clindamycin phosphate and works by reducing the amount of bacteria. It also prevents the skin's pores from becoming blocked, which stops new spots from forming.

Zindaclin Gel can also help to reduce the redness created by the spots you may already have.

Acne is a very common infliction which can occur in any stage of a person's life, particularly during adolescence.

Who can use Zindaclin Gel?

Zindaclin Gel may not be suitable for everyone to use.

Before using Zindaclin, inform your doctor if any of the below apply to you:

  • You are allergic to clindamycin phosphate or any of the other ingredients contained in this medicine (refer to the Ingredients tab for full details)
  • You are allergic to the antibiotic lincomycin
  • You suffer from inflammatory bowel disease
  • You have had diarrhoea while taking any antibiotics in the past

This medication should not be used by children who are under 12 years old.

Possible Side Effects

Like all medicines, Zindaclin Gel comes with the risk of certain adverse effects, although not everyone will suffer from them.

Applying an oil-free moisturiser to the affected area may help to alleviate certain side effects.

Below is a list of common adverse reactions you may experience while using this medicine; speak to your doctor if any of these worry you or do not go away:

  • Itchy skin
  • Redness of the skin
  • Worsening of acne
  • Irritation around your eyes
  • Burning skin
  • Dry skin

Less common reactions may include:

  • Painful skin
  • Scaly rash

This list is not exhaustive. For more information on rarer and more serious reactions, please refer to the Side Effects tab on this page.

Zindaclin Gel Dosage

Always follow your doctor's instructions when using Zindaclin Gel. Always read the patient information leaflet thoroughly. Ask your doctor if you are not sure of anything.

Our pharmacists and prescribers follow NICE prescribing guidelines when prescribing Zindaclin Gel.

Zindaclin Gel is only to be used externally; do not swallow the medicine. If you accidentally ingest Zindaclin Gel, seek medical attention immediately.

Avoid contact with the eyes and the insides of your nose and mouth when applying the treatment.

How to apply Zindaclin Gel

Use this treatment once a day.

  • Wash your skin as usual and ensure your skin is dry before you apply the medicine.
  • Apply a small amount of Zindaclin Gel to the whole of the affected area. Gently rub it into the skin until absorbed.
  • Replace the cap as soon as you have completed the application.

What if I forget to use it?

If you forget to apply Zindaclin Gel, just apply it as soon as you remember. Do not apply the treatment more than once in a day; this will not treat your acne any more effectively.

To effectively treat acne, it is important that you use Zindaclin Gel consistently. To ensure you don't forget to apply it, try to apply it at the same time every day, to get into a routine. Some people find it beneficial to set an alarm to remind them.

How long will it take to work?

Acne treatments can take several weeks to take effect, so you might not see any changes for a few weeks. Keep up your applications to ensure progress. It can take several months until the full effect is noticeable.

If the gel doesn't work, keep taking it for the prescribed length of time and return to your doctor at the end of this time if you do not notice any improvement.

Use it for as long as your doctor tells you to.

What if I use too much?

Do not worry if you accidentally apply too much Zindaclin; just wash the gel off thoroughly.

Contact your doctor if you become worried.
