About Salamol Easi-Breathe Inhaler
  1. What is Salamol Easi-Breathe Inhaler?

Salamol Easi-Breathe is a breath-actuated inhaler that contains salbutamol

Salamol is a blue reliever inhaler and works quickly to suppress the symptoms of asthma.

You can only buy Salamol Easi-Breathe when you have been prescribed it by a doctor.

What is Salamol used to treat?

The Salamol Easi-Breathe inhaler is widely prescribed as an effective treatment for asthma.

The inhaler contains the active ingredient salbutamol, which is effective in providing short-term relief from asthma symptoms.

This active ingredient is also particularly effective at preventing the symptoms of exercise-induced asthma attacks. Salamol Easi-Breathe inhalers act incredibly fast and asthma sufferers will feel the effects long after taking it, making it one of the most effective treatments for asthma available.

Why is Salamol Easi-Breathe recommended to treat asthma?

Salbutamol has been used in the treatment of asthma since 1969 in the UK and is regularly featured on the World Health Organisation's List of Essential Medicines.

Clinical studies have found salbutamol to be an effective treatment for asthma symptoms.

    How does Salamol Easi-Breathe work?

Salbutamol targets the beta-2 adrenergic receptors on the smooth muscle in the airways. It inhibits inflammation and hypersensitivity from mast cells, which relaxes the airways so air can pass through them easier. Its inhibitory effect on certain cells within the airways can be felt within 5 minutes of administration, making it a highly effective reliever inhaler.

Salamol Easi-Breathe should be used as soon as asthma symptoms start to appear. The salbutamol contained within the inhaler will help with symptoms such as wheezing, coughing and breathlessness.

Salamol Easi-Breathe and other reliever inhalers should form part of a long term asthma treatment plan, which also includes the use of a daily preventer inhaler such as Clenil Modulite.

    Who can use Salamol Easi-Breathe?

This inhaler is not suitable for people who have certain conditions. If you suffer from any of the below conditions, you should inform your doctor before you use it:
