What are Domperidone 10mg tablets?
Max order limit: 30 Tablets per treatment
Domperidone 10mg tablets contain domperidone as the active ingredient; this substance belongs to a group of medicines known as dopamine antagonists.
It is an anti-sickness medicine that comes as tablets or a liquid you swallow. You can only buy Domperidone 10 mg when you have a prescription.
It is available to order at Medicine Direct, following an online consultation with one of our certified doctors. If you order with us before 2pm, next day delivery is available.
What are Domperidone 10mg tablets used to treat?
Domperidone is used as a treatment for nausea and vomiting. It can also be used to alleviate stomach pain if you are having end of life care (palliative care).
It works by blocking the messages that are passed between the brain and the digestive system.
This causes the muscles at the exit of your stomach to relax, reducing the likelihood of you being sick.
Domperidone is also able to block messages sent between parts of your brain known as the chemoreceptor trigger zone (CTZ) and the vomiting centre. This prevents nausea and vomiting.
Who can take Domperidone tablets?
Domperidone is an effective treatment for nausea and vomiting, but it may not be suitable for everyone to use.
Domperidone tablets are not available in different doses, which means if domperidone 10mg tablets are not best suited to treat your condition, your doctor of prescriber may choose to prescribe an alternative treatment altogether, instead of reducing your dose.
This medication is only recommended for adults and adolescents aged 12 years old and above.
